MIDORI RESIDENCY
As both Program Curator and Conductor, Robert Boardman collaborates with world-renowned violinist and UN Messenger of Peace Midori in a powerful weeklong residency culminating in a concert that blends musical virtuosity with social purpose. The program features works by Bach, Bernstein, Brahms, and John Williams, and continues Boardman’s ongoing artistic advocacy for Ukraine. Violinist Solomia Soroka, a champion of Ukrainian music, joins Midori to perform Bach’s Double Violin Concerto—symbolizing international solidarity and cultural resilience. This event builds on Boardman’s previous Ukrainian-centered efforts, including premieres of Iryna Aleksiychuk’s Go Where the Wind Takes You, performances of Skoryk’s Melody, and his programming of Finlandia—a work long associated with resistance to Russian aggression.
